NOS Nitrous Bottle Danger! (10 oz to 2.5 lb.) Safety Recall Notice!

NOS Small Nitrous Bottle (10 oz to 2.5 lb.) Safety Recall Notice

Besides in almost every state Nitrous being illegal to use on public roads ( either by actually using it or having it connected available to use) , now its potentially dangerous too. One younger teen had a nitrous bottle in his trunk wich exlpoded ripping throught the garage, detremantal damage to the trunk/ rear of the car and garage door. Note: the pictures are of an actual nitrous bottle explosion however was a full 10 pound bottle with bottle heater on in a Nissan Maxima.

Rear of car peeled open from 1600 psi of 400 degree nitrous rushing out searing through metal.

This is the outside garage door where a bust bottle shot through.

Nitrous Oxide Systems (NOS) has been informed by Cramer Decker Industries that a defect which relates to motor vehicle safety exists in certain burst discs that were inadvertently installed in bottle valves for Nitrous oxide systems used on motorcycles, ATV’s, personal watercraft, Sneaky Pete systems, and certain other automotive kits that use small bottles (10 oz. to 2.5 lb.). All of the below listed kits and related accessories are sold and distributed under the NOS brad name. This decision was made based on information provided to us by Cramer Decker Industries. The incorrect burst discs were installed in bottle valves commonly used on small Nitrous bottles (10 oz. to 2.5 lb.). The combination of overfilling a bottle and exposing the bottle to high temperatures ( like a bottle heater sold by Holley or summer heat) may cause the bottle pressure to exceed the safe working limits of the bottle resulting in bottle failure (bursting). Because the defective bottle can burst, the defect can cause injury without prior warning. Attached is a full listing of all affected part numbers manufactured by NOS. All bottle valves, whether sold in kit form, assembled to bottles or purchased individually, along with replacement burst discs purchased separately that were purchased from NOS from February 1, 2006 thru November 1, 2006 are subject to this recall.

Don't let your car or bike end up like this, Use Nitrous Safely and off public roads. Nitrous in contact with flamable materials ( yes anything that can burn) is dangerous in the presence of heat and its illegal to use on public streets or even have hooked up can get you a large ticket and points on the license.
