Ford Re-Recalling Hundreds of Thousands of Vehicles
Ford Motor Co. said yesterday that they are recalling about 225,000 vehicles, including 185,000 E-Series vans, that were already repaired as part of an earlier recall to address concerns about a cruise control deactivation switch. The auto-maker recalled millions of Ford F-150 trucks and cars to fix cruise control switch problems by installing new wiring harnesses in the recalled vehicles. Now some of those replacement wiring harnesses appear to have been defective Agian! Ford says the affected vehicles represent a small portion of the 10-million vehicles that were been recalled since 1999 relating to the cruise control switch problem. This story was first reported in the Detroit News yesterday, but Ford stated that they would officially notify the NHTSA of the recall on Monday.
